May 12, 2010 District Finals On April 30th and May 1st the Northeastern District had a wonderful time of fellowship and competition at our District quiz finals hosted by Westfield Baptist Church in Westfield, NY. Friday night was a great time of fellowhip and fun, just enjoying time spent together by Lake Erie. On Saturday morning the competition commenced and it was a great day of quizzing. All of the quizzers did an excellent job and the quizzing was very competitive. At the end of the day only 5 quizzers could go on and represent our District at Internationals, but there were many that were more than qualified. Nick Murgia, Nate Harp, Sam Benedict, Ellie Oliver and Caleb Benedict were the top 5 that will be representing our District this year. Congratulations to them and their coaches for all the hardwork they have put in all year long. February 26, 2010 March Madness Teams The 2010 March Madness teams and officials have been announced! Check HERE now to see where you are! December 7, 2009 March Madness It is time to start thinking about the March Madness Scramble! Be sure to put it on your calendar - March 19 and 20. It will take place at LaFayette Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and the cost will be $10/quizzer. Coaches will be getting information via email on registering their quizzers. We will not be doing website registration this year. We look forward to seeing you all there! July 15, 2009 Internationals The 5 young men who made the Northeastern District Team in April represented you well. They quizzed quite well in the preliminaries finishing 6th at that point and having had all 5 of the guys answering correctly at some point. They really worked as a team. On Saturday during the championship rounds, they did not fare quite as well quizzing wise, but still were model examples of how to handle success and defeat. The team finished 7th place overall and Nate Kitchen finished in 4th place individually with Nate Harp finishing in 19th place individually and narrowly missing receiving the rookie of the year award. If anyone is interested, you can look at more stats on www.biblequizstats.org Next year's International competition will be held July 20th-25th in Calgary. Anyone who is planning on trying to make the team will need to have their passport by district finals in May. May 13, 2009 Next Year's Material Click Here to get the cycle for I and II Corinthians. April 28, 2009 District Finals Thanks to all for making the 2009 District Finals a huge success. A BIG thank you to Joan Eppehimer, Linda Kent, Carl Swan and the others who helped in the planning. Chad Heim helped us to focus our toughts on the importance of God's Word and not just competition in quizzing on Friday night before heading off to the Gladiator Games. Thanks to FLN for coming out to lead that. There will be pictures coming soon! The Juniors did an excellent job in their quizzes on Saturday with Finger Lakes 1- Lions in the Lord winning the team trophy by 1 point over Erie Southwest Juniors. The Seniors also had a good morning of quizzing with the top three teams very close, but NNW coming out on top this year. There were 14 who made it to the afternoon round, Jim Godyn (NNW), Nate Kitchen (ESW), Nick Murgia (FL), Nathan Harp (ESW), Jacob Steeg (ESW), Taylor Fleming(FL), Lianne Montagna (NNW), Hannah Sugar (NNW), Aaron Chen (FL), Kodi Robinson (ESW), Jon Calderon (FL), Laura Kitchen (ESW), Alyssa Mills(ESW) and Brianna Stanton(ESW).
