March Madness Scramble - Spring Tournament 2009
March 20th and 21st, 2009
On Friday and Saturday, March 20 and 21, the Finger Lakes zone will be hosting a quiz tournament at the LaFayette Alliance Church. We will be using a scramble format. A Scramble means that we will make up teams from all participants, trying to keep them as even as possible. Each team will have a strong quizzer, an average quizzer, a weaker quizzer, etc. We used this format last year and quizzers had a blast. There will be top ten quizzing at the end of the day and individual prizes.
Senior and Junior quizzers are invited.
Juniors will quiz separately and have their own Friday Night Activity.
Material to be covered
- Seniors: Luke 1, 3:1-23, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24
- Juniors: Luke 2, 9, 11, 15, 18, 19, 23, 24
We will assign coaches to each team. If you are willing to coach, be a scorekeeper or answer judge, please e-mail mantis314@verizon.net and let us know.
Cost:
Quizzers - $8 registration fee, Friday night snack and Saturday lunch.
Non-quizzers - $3 suggested donation per person for snacks and lunch.
Friday Night: starting at 7:00 p.m. for worship, activity and refreshments. We will end around 9:00 p.m. to head to the host homes.
Saturday Quiz Day: will begin at 8:30 a.m. for worship and 9:00 a.m.for quizzing
Housing:
Pre-register by January 31 to insure free housing in homes. After that date you can sleep at the church or find alternate housing.
- All quizzers need to bring sleeping bags, pillows, toiletries as you most likely will be sleeping on the floor
- Coaches will get a bed or a sofa
- Families of Juniors – we should be able to get you housing together

From Syracuse:
Take I-81 South to US-20 exit 15, Lafayette
Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp and merge onto US-20 east going toward LaFayette
Go east on US-20 through the center of town
The church is on the left approximately 1/4 mile East of the light at the center of town
From the South:
Take I-81 North to exit number 15, towards LAFAYETTE (US-20)
Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp and Merge onto US-11
Turn LEFT at the light in the center of town onto US-20
