March Madness Scramble - Spring Tournament 2010
March 19th and 20th, 2010
On Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20, the Finger Lakes zone will be hosting a quiz tournament at the LaFayette Alliance Church. We will be using a scramble format.
A Scramble means that we will make up teams from all participants, trying to keep them as even as possible. Each team will have a strong quizzer, an average quizzer, a weaker quizzer, etc.
There will be top ten quizzing at the end of the day and individual prizes.
We will assign coaches to each team. If you are willing to coach, be a scorekeeper or answer judge, please e-mail mantis314@verizon.net and let us know.
Senior and Junior quizzers are invited.
Juniors will quiz separately.
Material to be covered
- Seniors: I Corinthians and II Corinthians
- Juniors: I Corinthians 1,2,3,10,11,12,13,15, II Corinthians 2,3,4,5,6,9,13
Cost:
Quizzers - $10 registration fee, Friday night snack and Saturday lunch.
Non-quizzers - $4 suggested donation per person for snacks and lunch.
Friday Night: starting at 6:30 p.m. for pre-worship during registration, 7:00 p.m. for worship, activity and refreshments. We will end around 9:00 p.m. to head to the host homes.
Guest Speaker: Drama performed with Saul on Friday night and Paul on Saturday morning.
Saturday Quiz Day: will begin at 8:30 a.m. for worship and 9:00 a.m. for quizzing. We will end by 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Housing:
Pre-register by February 14 to guarantee free housing in homes. After that date you may have to sleep at the church or find alternate housing.
- All quizzers need to bring sleeping bags, pillows, toiletries as you most likely will be sleeping on the floor
- Coaches will get a bed or a sofa
- Families of Juniors – we will get you housing together

- Simply leave the number of quizzers and adults you think you will need housing for. Then when you know particulars, register with names and other info.
- Remember to pre-register by February 14 to guarantee host housing.

From Syracuse:
Take I-81 South to US-20 exit 15, Lafayette
Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp and merge onto US-20 east going toward LaFayette
Go east on US-20 through the center of town
The church is on the left approximately 1/4 mile East of the light at the center of town
From the South:
Take I-81 North to exit number 15, towards LAFAYETTE (US-20)
Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp and Merge onto US-11
Turn LEFT at the light in the center of town onto US-20
